So I have only been interested in Carnivorous plants for a few months. Found and rescued a typical flytrap at the local Home Depot during the beginning of summer. Was hooked almost immediately. Met the most WONDERFUL people in the forums and started reading up on the myriad of plants. Fell in love and have started my own little collection of carnivorous plants. I have a single sundew and many flytraps so far. Once I can get my sun screen up in the backyard I will be trying to add a few pitcher plants to my collection. s1351.photobucket.com/user/SWT754/library/?sort=3&page=0(I hope this link works correctly.) Is there a better way to link to my pictures?

Pitcher plants love the sun depending on what you get but purps love the sun, nice collection of flytraps that you have there, it will be nice to see how they look as they grow. As far as linking photos Andrew would be the one to ask, I just crop my pics and attach them to my post, only thing is they have to be 1mb or less.

I'm glad that the link worked correctly. I was going to try and make a trip to Sebastopol today to pick up my first pitcher plant but plans were changed. Someone made me an offer to send me a plant and I would only have to pay shipping so I may just go that route instead. As far as fun sun goes, it gets really hot here (over 100) and it's a dry heat. Would a shade screen be better or should I still leave the plant in direct sun? The direct sun seemed to really bother the vft that I had outside. Hence why I picked up the sunscreen. Thank again.

Yea that is pretty hot so you are right to put up a shade for them, they love the sun but that is too hot for many CP's, in the wild they usually have water flowing around them somewhere, hey can survive 100 degree temps but no need for them to do so in our care.

I keep my flaytraps, dews, and pitchers that are making phyllodia in my shade cloth, and my "show plants" are on the side of the yard, where they get 7 hours of morning sun, then afternoon shade. wow you have a ton of plants. as for the pics, click on libary, then on the thumbnail of the pic you want to share, hover your mouse over the top right conor of the thumbnail, click on share, the click on links, the finally, click on the last one(it will copy it for you) then paste it in where you want the pic. I will get a guide up later
