Just wanted to share with you guys here a link to the volcano I have just 10km from my house, 10900ft high and active with steam columns each morning, it makes sometimes small eruptions with ash, so there is a camera installed on its top that gives live images every 10 seconds, best times to see are morning and maybe mid day, then, sometimes at night you may see the glowing sulfur! www.ovsicori.una.ac.cr/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=43&Itemid=74Reload this post and the photo automatically updates!

Not at all, it is an every day thing, imagine to live scared by something...nuts... even more when it now has 6 years of being active like that. And even more, look at the link at night, see the lights in the backround, that is the capital city, they always get all the disasters, we are rarely afected by anything of it, I even went really recently to the closest point you are able to go without breaking the law that made a perimeter so people did not enter the area: My album of the trip: www.panoramio.com/user/1045077?comment_page=1&photo_page=5

It's amazing how lush and green it looks all around the volcano. Those pictures were great! Thank you for sharing them.

How can the trees be dead but the grass remain green and nice looking? You said you were a decent distance from the volcano but how does that effect your plants? Is there any danger to you or your plants where you are? I saw a quick thing on the news about a Japanese volcano going off and thought of you immediately. Lots of ash in the air there. Scary!!

I haven't even smelled a single time the volcano, I live far away, that photo is from a trip I made on july, look at the pictures in panoramio and see where they were taken, then, go a little higher and see the town of turrialba where I'm located

Well I'm glad you're not too close. Still....pretty scary. I still loved the pictures though.

This wednesday 21 was full moon, those pictures at night were gorgeus!, I have an archive of photos, every time I enter the webpage and it is not cloudy or night I save them, but this time it was simply too good to not save the picture
