"Leaves are up to 28 in. (71 cm) long, gradually expand from base to orifice, are erect and have a wing which is widest in the middle. An ovate hood covers the orifice. The leaves appear before flowering. pitcher color is mainly green with coppery red and/or yellow coloration in strong light. There are numerous fenesations on the upper part of the pitcher. No phyllodilla are produced. Flowers which are yellow colored and odorless are born on scrapes which are shorter then the leaves. Flowering occers from mid march to mid may."- page 33, Carnivorus Plants of the World. This little sarracenia is quite special. It has a monkish look with it's close hood. The plant is shorter and smaller then most of it's cousins. The flowers are medium sized for the genes and are buttery yellow. This plant uses both the pitfall method and lobster pot method to catch prey. From the offenkee swamp in Georgia, their are some huge plants that grow their. The leaves may reach up to 4 feet tall in their natural habitat, but they only get half that size in captivity. a nicly colerd minor i got from california carnivores

Nice plant, now in this years that I know more about the plants, I realized a plant I got at the very beginning was a minor plant, it was sold to me as "dormant" plant, down here, and well, I beleived that then, so I months later lost it for some reason, it died
